F1RST-SIGN privacy policy

Updated 16 October 2026 · iPad

F1RST-SIGN is a customer welcome sign for an authorised counter operator. This policy covers the signboard app, including customer names entered for display.

Information on the device

The operator can enter a first name, last name, welcome message and footer, and choose display settings. The app saves these values in local device preferences so they remain available after reopening. A displayed name or message is visible to people who can see the screen. Enter only the information needed to welcome the customer.

A custom logo image, if configured, is stored locally for display. Selecting or changing that image does not send it to a developer service.

Use, sharing and service providers

The app uses the saved information to render the sign. It has no app account, advertising or analytics service, and the signboard does not upload customer names to a developer backend. Device management, operating-system backups and any screenshots taken by an operator are separate from the app’s own storage and are controlled by the device owner and operating-system settings.

Clearing and retention

Use Clear Customer Details to remove the current first name, last name and footer from the app. This is an operator action; names do not automatically expire. Clear details when the welcome is complete and before passing the device to another operator. Resetting display settings and clearing the current name do not remove a screenshot, a backup or a copy already made elsewhere.

Responsibility and requests

The organisation using the sign controls the customer information entered and displayed. Ask that organisation about a name displayed at its counter. Palingen can help with app questions, access or correction requests and privacy complaints through the contact below. No customer details are needed to ask for technical help.

Publisher, hosting and international processing

Palingen publishes this app and this notice. Where your organisation uses the app for workplace operations, that organisation controls the operational records it enters and the staff who can access them. Contact your administrator about those records, or contact Palingen for help routing a request.

Hosting, security, email and platform providers process information needed to deliver their services. Cloudflare hosts this policy website and relevant Cloudflare services described above. Provider networks and subprocessors can process information outside Australia. Provider logs, recovery snapshots and backups can have separate retention periods. These policy pages do not send a visit to Palingen’s visitor-printer feed.

Questions, access, correction and complaints

Use the contact below for privacy questions, access or correction requests, deletion requests and complaints. Include the app name and enough detail to locate the relevant information, without passwords, enrolment codes or unnecessary customer information. Identity may need to be verified. We will consider the request and explain any limits, including records controlled by your organisation, legal retention, backups or copies already printed or shared.

If a concern is not resolved, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where applicable. This policy will be updated at this address when practices change.
